We’re James and Raquelle, the team behind Modern Romantics.
We married young, started our family early, and have spent the past eleven years doing what we love most: documenting weddings with honesty, intention, and heart. Based in Sydney, we built this studio around a shared love for storytelling, the real kind, where emotion leads and moments unfold naturally.
We believe in capturing love as it really is, unscripted and unfiltered. From the loud, joyful moments to the quiet, intimate ones, we’re there for it all. We take pride in documenting not just the couple, but the people who matter most, the ones who shape the day and carry the story forward.
Our approach is grounded in subtlety and intention. We don’t orchestrate; we observe. And through that, we’re able to create a body of work that not only looks beautiful but feels like you, your love, your people, your day.
Our work has been featured in Vogue, Tatler UK, and The Lane, who named us one of Australia’s top wedding photographers. But the greatest honour, truly, is being trusted with the moments that matter most.
