Lindesay House / Hinchcliff House Wedding

Tucked away in the prestigious suburb of Darling Point, Lindesay House is one of Sydney’s most timeless and elegant wedding venues. With sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and heritage architecture surrounded by manicured gardens, it offers couples a truly romantic setting, rain or shine. For Mabel and Kim, the forecast leading up to their big day was far from ideal, with relentless rain putting their dream of an outdoor ceremony in doubt. But their warmth and grace never wavered. With a last-minute pivot, the ceremony was moved to an undercover space on the property, and it became one of the most intimate and moving ceremonies we’ve witnessed.

Kim had prepared for the day earlier at Lindesay House, without fanfare, just him, his thoughts, and us quietly documenting. The stillness of the house in the morning made for some striking, reflective frames, and once again the venue’s heritage style amplified the elegance of the day. From the ornate interiors to the sweeping front lawn, Lindesay House Darling Point proved to be more than just a backdrop, it became a character in the story.

As a string quartet played softly and the rain fell gently around them, Mabel and Kim exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and the historic beauty of Lindesay House. The soft light and sounds of rain created a cinematic atmosphere that made everything feel extra magical. Kim looked every bit the classic gentleman in a crisp white suit jacket, standing tall against the sandstone and ivy covered walls of the estate. Lindesay’s old-world charm gave the black-and-white portraits an almost timeless quality, as if we’d stepped into a different era.

After the ceremony, we left Lindesay House and headed into the city to Crown Sydney, where Mabel and Kim changed into their reception outfits before continuing on to Hinchcliff House. When I first saw the outfit change on their run sheet, I floated the idea of coming along to document it. Just the two of them at the hotel, helping one another prepare for the next part of the celebration. No posing or staging, just quiet moments, laughter and the little heartbeats between the grander parts of the day.

Their evening celebration took place at Hinchcliff House, one of Sydney’s most atmospheric wedding reception venues. Located near Circular Quay in the heart of the Sydney CBD, the beautifully restored wool store brought warmth, texture and old-world romance to the evening. Dinner was served by candlelight, filling the room with a soft golden glow and creating an intimate, deeply romantic setting for their guests.

As the evening unfolded, heartfelt speeches gave way to dancing and the energy shifted beautifully. A live saxophonist moved among the guests, filling Hinchcliff House with music as everyone spilled onto the dance floor. The candlelight, laughter and live sax made the reception feel effortlessly romantic, lively and completely their own.

From their rain-soaked Lindesay House wedding ceremony in Darling Point to an elegant outfit change at Crown Sydney and a candlelit Hinchcliff House wedding reception, Mabel and Kim’s celebration unfolded across some of Sydney’s most beautiful locations. Although the weather changed their original plans, the day felt entirely as it was meant to be: intimate, timeless and full of romance.
