A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AT THE MARION, CANBERRA – GENA & ANTHONY

Set on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin, The Marion in Canberra was the perfect backdrop for Gena and Anthony’s elegant and deeply heartfelt wedding day. With its modern architecture, soft natural light, and sweeping waterfront views, the venue set the tone for a celebration that felt both timeless and effortlessly stylish.

The day began with a calm, joyful energy as Gena and Anthony got ready surrounded by their closest people. There was laughter, quiet moments of reflection, and that unmistakable anticipation that builds before seeing each other for the first time. Gena looked incredible, elegant and radiant, while Anthony’s reaction when they met said everything. These are the moments I love capturing most: natural, unscripted, and full of emotion.

Their ceremony at The Marion was intimate and beautifully personal, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows and shimmering water beyond. As they exchanged vows, the light poured in, creating a soft, editorial feel that paired perfectly with the raw emotion of the moment. Every glance, every smile, every tear told the story of who they are together.

As the sun dipped lower over the lake, guests moved into the evening celebrations. Heartfelt speeches, incredible food, and a packed dance floor followed, one of those nights where time seems to disappear. From quiet, emotional exchanges to wild, joy-filled moments, it was a dream to photograph in a photojournalistic way, letting the story unfold naturally.

Gena and Anthony’s wedding at The Marion was modern, romantic, and full of genuine connection, a true reflection of them as a couple. As a Sydney-based wedding photographer specialising in editorial and photojournalist wedding photography, I love travelling for celebrations like this and capturing them honestly and beautifully.
