FAQs

How would you describe your filming style?

Our films are rooted in storytelling, the story always comes first. We take a fly-on-the-wall approach, documenting your day as it unfolds with lots of movement, energy, and emotion, while remaining unobtrusive. We don’t stage moments or interrupt the flow of your day. The result is an honest, classic, and timeless wedding film that feels true to you and your experience.

We are camera shy, do we need to pose at all?

Not at all. Our style is very much about capturing real, authentic moments rather than staged scenes. During the day, your photographer usually takes the lead, giving gentle direction during key moments, while we film unobtrusively around you. We work best alongside photographers who share a similar documentary and considered approach.

We don’t make couples do things multiple times. Many of our couples barely notice the camera: we use long lenses and a cinema-style approach that blends seamlessly into the background. James has been described as a “ninja” by couples, allowing us to capture the day naturally while you simply live it.

The result is a film full of genuine emotion and movement, where you can be completely yourselves, without worrying about performing for the camera.

What’s the Advantage of Booking Photo & Film Together?

While we do occasionally accept film-only commissions, our work is at its strongest when photo and film are booked together. When you book both photo and film with us, you’re getting one cohesive vision captured seamlessly. As a husband-and-wife duo, we don’t outsource or bring in additional shooters — it’s always just us. This allows us to work intuitively together, move effortlessly through the day, and create a consistent body of work across both your photographs and your film.

Because we’re a boutique studio, we take on only a small number of photo + video weddings each year. We prioritise weddings held on one site (or locations very close together) so we can stay fully present and focused on telling your story without logistical stress. Our approach is best suited to smaller weddings (around 100 guests) and couples who don’t require second shooters, and who truly connect with our storytelling style.

Do you work with content creators?

We understand that having a content creator present is important to some couples. That said, choosing a creator whose approach and style aligns with your photo and video team is crucial to ensure a seamless experience. We have a list of creators who work beautifully with our style and are happy to provide recommendations.

Do you offer RAW footage?

We don’t offer RAW footage, and that’s very intentional. Our shooting style is moment-to-moment rather than rolling continuously all day. We film in short, purposeful bursts to capture genuine interactions, emotion, and movement as they naturally unfold, very much in sync with how we photograph a wedding. Almost everything we shoot is thoughtfully used in your final film, crafted into our signature storytelling style rather than hours of disconnected clips.

Do you use drone?

We use drones thoughtfully and sparingly. Our priority is always people, moments, and the natural flow of your day, captured as it unfolds without intrusion. When conditions allow, drone footage is a beautiful way to establish your setting, showcasing a spectacular venue, destination and setting the scene for your film.

Drone footage is included at no extra cost, though it isn’t guaranteed. Use depends on weather and location restrictions, as there are some areas where we’re not legally permitted to fly. Any aerial shots are typically captured before the wedding day begins, so the experience remains uninterrupted for you and your guests. When it works, it’s a subtle, cinematic bonus, never the focus, but a lovely addition.

Can we choose the music for our film?

We’re unable to use commercial or chart music due to copyright laws. All of our films are created using professionally licensed music from a dedicated music platform, ensuring your film is legally protected and can be shared freely online. We work with you to carefully select music that complements your story, pacing, and emotion.

For more details on music licensing and why it matters, you can read more here.

Do you use voiceovers?

Our films are guided by feeling, not narration. Rather than building our wedding films around voiceovers, vows, or speeches, we let music lead the story, allowing imagery, movement, and emotion to speak naturally for themselves.

In our experience, spoken words can anchor a film to a specific moment in time. Speeches are often light-hearted or anecdotal, and when used as the backbone of a film, they don’t always support the cinematic, romantic atmosphere we aim to create or age as gracefully over time.

By treating your wedding film more like a music-led visual experience, we create something immersive and timeless. The focus remains on connection, mood, and feeling, rather than dialogue or narration, resulting in a film that can be enjoyed just as deeply years from now as it is today.

For this reason, we don’t offer voiceover-driven films. It’s a deliberate creative choice and a defining part of our storytelling approach.

How long does it take to receive our wedding film?

We take the time to craft a film you’ll cherish forever. Our approach is carefully curated, your film isn’t a quick, social-media-style edit, but a cinematic story that reflects the emotion, movement, and details of your day.

Because we focus on quality over speed, delivery can take up to 8 weeks. Our couples value the care and craftsmanship that goes into every frame, and we believe a thoughtfully crafted film is worth the wait.
